My seaside luxury owns eight stunning apartments in Ramsgate from the smallest flat at Lyndhurst Road to the spectacular penthouse on Sion Hill. If you are planning to come to Ramsgate with a group of friends or for a family reunion, we would of course be delighted to work out the best combination of apartments for you and do our best to make the price as attractive as we can.
Now frequently called 'the new Brighton', Ramsgate has an abundance of sea facing restaurants, bars and cafes and, would you believe, more listed buildings than Bath. It is now only a short 75 minute train journey from St Pancras on the smart new high speed rail link or a 90 minute drive from London.
Sion House
I do not think that you will find a more spectacular holiday home than Sion House, it is perfectly placed for Ramsgate marina, the beach, the restaurants and indeed Waitrose is only 2 minutes away from where, of course, it is possible to order your shopping ahead of your arrival to be delivered to the apartment.
The views are breathtaking as you will see from the photographs and the art deco building is extremely smart and elegant having just been completely refurbished from top to bottom.
The Penthouse Sion House
In an art deco building with views over the marina, the penthouse sleeps 6 people in three bedrooms (with three bath/shower rooms) and with every conceivable luxury including wifi.
With a large terrace off the master bedroom and another off the living room, the views are extraordinary. Newly converted, the penthouse has the best of everything including memory mattresses on the 5 foot beds, DVD and television, wifi, luxury sheets and pillowcases, Ipod dock and of course the usual dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and freezer. There is a glass dining table and chairs for eight people and the beds in bedrooms 2 and 3 can be either singles or proper zipped up doubles with thick mattress protectors to ensure maximum comfort. The master bedroom has a terrace with full pull back windows and a bathroom en suite. The two other bedrooms have shower rooms en suite.
Number 3 Sion House
Just below the penthouse on the first floor is number 3 Sion House. This is a brand new and beautifully equipped apartment for four people with two bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a large and bright sitting room with kitchen/diner. Everything is of the finest quality and the apartment has outstanding views from the terrace off the sitting room looking out over the marina. Like the penthouse, it has a memory mattress on the 5 foot bed as well as all the usual trimmings you would expect in a luxury apartment including TV/DVD plus dishwasher, washer/drier and freezer and wifi.
Number 2 Sion House
On the ground floor of Sion House is number 2. This is exacty like the penthouse and number 3 in terms of the quality of the furnishings and the equipment but is less expensive due to the fact it is on the ground floor and does not have a terrace. Nevertheless the apartment looks out over the marina and is very bright and beautifully finished. Everything is brand new as the apartment was only purchased in June after a total rebuild of the building.
There are two bedrooms - a double bedroom and a second bedroom which has full size (3 ft wide) bunk beds. In addition there is a shower room en suite and a second bathroom with bath. The brand new wooden kitchen has everything you will require - dishwasher, washer/drier and freezer and in the sitting room there is a television with freeview channels and DVD as well as wifi.
For an inexpensive week at the seaside I think that number 2 Sion House would be hard to beat given the quality of the accommodation and the magnificent location.
These three apartments taken together would be perfect for a large family or a group of friends as they would provide seven double bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Wellington Crescent
This property is located in the most
magnificent crescent which boasts breathtaking coastal views. A romantic
open-plan living space incorporates a kitchen and sitting room. The
stylish new kitchen comes complete with a breakfast bar, a great place
to enjoy your morning coffee. In the double room the king size Memory
Foam bed is piled high with plush cushions. The twin room sleeps two
more and the beds can be made up as a double at your request. At the
front of the property are three large windows, each with a different
view of Ramsgate’s beach and the English Channel beyond it. Ascend the
stairs from the kitchen and you come across a magnificent roof terrace.
From here, you’ll experience sweeping panoramic views out to sea and
across the whole of Ramsgate. This stunning apartment is perfectly
positioned to take advantage of the restaurants and bars on the harbour
front. And you’ll find a promenade just across the road – the starting
point for some sensational coastal walks.
The Regency
This is a recently completed development of a beautiful cream Regency crescent. On the ground floor there is a gymnasium and in the square outside are three tennis courts (which can also be used by our guests staying in Sion House). The beach is less than a five minute walk away and Waitrose is but a short stroll down the road.
9 The Regency
The first of our purchases, number 9 The Regency, was bought and furnished for ourselves. Built in the Regency period, it has high ceilings and three sets of French windows onto a terrace which looks straight out to the sea. We furnished it in a very traditional way with wooden floors, Lloyd Loom chairs and table and big comfy sofas in duck egg blue with a mass of cushions. French chandeliers hang from the ceilings and big wooden shutters close over the floor to ceiling windows at night.
The apartment has a large bedroom with a 5 foot bed with a memory mattress and a bathroom en suite. Next to it is a very large dressing room which can accommodate either two single beds, a double bed or of course a cot. There is also a 5 foot sofa bed in the sitting room.
16 The Regency
Number 16 is next door and similar to number 9 without the dressing room and with a shower room ensuite. It is a very different style in that it has been interior designed in a contemporary way with chestnut wooden floors, white sofas and and black and white furnishings.
I believe that all our apartments are furnished in a way that we would have wanted, had we been taking a break by the sea.
Addington Street
This property is located in Addington Street, a street
with a lot of character. A cosy and pretty little holiday getaway on the second and third floor of a small listed
building close to the harbour with sea views awaits you.
Upstairs there is a
double room with Queen Size bed. The twin room sleeps two more and the
beds can be made up as a double at your request. At the front of the
property are two large windows, looking out in to the harbour and the
English Channel beyond it.
This beautiful Ramsgate apartment is
perfectly positioned to take advantage of the restaurants and bars on
the harbour front. You’ll find yourself in a real character property, on
a lovely street within close proximity of everything Ramsgate and the
local surrounds has to offer.
Lyndhurst Road
Lyndhurst Road was designed for those with a slightly smaller budget but still desirous of all the benefits of a luxury apartment - a small flat screen TV, freeview, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine/drier, fridge/freezer as well as fine cotton sheets and expensive fluffy towels. With pale painted wooden floors and Lloyd Loom chairs, this very pretty apartment has both charm and elegance.
In a lovely road just off the front it is a stone's throw from a glorious wide sandy beach. It is perfect for a family of 4 looking for a place with all the amenities you could wish for when taking young children on holiday. Equally it is a romantic bolthole for a couple looking for a quiet time away.
The apartment has two bedrooms (one double and one with two single beds which can be made up as a second double if required), a brand new shower room and a lovely sitting room with a stunning new kitchen.
